Corrections
Accuracy matters more than pretending mistakes never happen. When DMV Frontpage makes a material factual error, we correct it when verified and make the substantive change clear to readers.
How to report an error
Use the DMV Frontpage contact page and include the URL, the specific statement you believe is wrong and, when possible, the source that supports the correction. Attribution corrections and removal requests from publishers can be sent through the same channel.
Original coverage
Material factual errors are corrected after verification. When a change affects the meaning or substance of an Original, we add a correction or update note explaining what changed. Routine spelling, grammar, formatting and style fixes that do not alter meaning may be made without a note.
If a headline, date, identification or other prominent fact was materially wrong, the corrected version replaces it and the correction note describes the substantive error.
Aggregated coverage
For aggregated items, DMV Frontpage is responsible for the headline treatment and any blurb we write, not for the underlying publisher's article. If our description is wrong, we correct or remove it. If the original publisher corrects or retracts its story, we update or remove our reference as appropriate and continue to direct readers to the publisher's own correction when one exists.
Corrections record
Corrections and material update notes remain attached to the Original they concern. A separate site-wide corrections log may be added as the archive grows; the absence of a separate log does not remove notes from corrected articles.
DMV Frontpage is an independent regional publication and discovery platform covering Washington, DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia.
